Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats
If you love peanut butter cups, or peanut butter and chocolate you will love these sweet peanut butter cup rice krispie treats.


  • 7 cups mini marshmallows

  • 6 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 7 cups Rice Krispie cereal

  • 15 seasonal (or 24 regular) peanut butter cups

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

  • 1 tablespoon shortening

  • Sprinkles (optional)


  1. Begin by greasing a 9x13-inch pan with butter or cooking spray. Set aside.

  2. In a large saucepan, slowly melt the butter over low heat. Once it's melted, add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Then stir in the peanut butter.

  3. Next, add the cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until completely combined. Press half of the mixture into your prepared pan.

  4. Place a single layer of the peanut butter cups on top of the Rice Krispie mixture. Then add the remaining mixture over top and press down. Let cool.

  5. Finally, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave save bowl, microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Spread evenly over the top of the Rice Krispie treats. Garnish with sprinkles (optional). After the chocolate is completely set, cut and serve the treats.


  • Storage: Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for 3 days.
